In Edinburgh’s Old Town, Castle Rock Hostel - Adults Only is conveniently located 11 minutes’ walk from Waverley Train Station, and 3 minutes from Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle. In a 19th-century building decorated with art, this adult-only property has colourful dormitories and free WiFi access.

The hostel offers accommodation exclusively for guests aged 18 years and older. Dormitories feature bunk beds with bedside lockers and have use of shared bathroom facilities with showers. There is a cosy lounge with a piano and large sofas by the fireplace, a movie room with big screen and an internet lounge with WiFi.

Breakfast is unfortunately not available at the moment, but we have a large self catering kitchen for guest use.  Laundry and luggage storage services are also offered.

This hostel is around 5 minutes’ walk from Princes Street Gardens, The Scottish National Gallery and the National Museum of Scotland. It is also a pick-up point for free walking tours around the city.

Castle Rock Hostel - Adults Only

Five minutes’ walk from Edinburgh Station and less than 10 minutes from Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile Backpackers enjoys a central location surrounded by bars, cafés and restaurants. The small and cosy hostel features free WiFi and knowledgeable staff to tell you about the Scottish capital and assist with tour bookings.

Mixed and female dormitories have bunk beds and lockers, and guests can make use of laundry services, hairdryers and adaptors. Luggage storage is available at the property. Bicycle storage is available at the High Street Hostel just across the road.

There is both a female-only and mixed bathroom with hot showers and toilets. The property's comfy lounge with fireplace is the perfect place to socialise.

You can buy a continental breakfast at Royal Mile Backpackers, and enjoy free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The kitchen and dining area is open 24 hours a day, and you can make use of discount vouchers for local food retailers.

Close to the university, this hostel is a little over 10 minutes’ walk from the huge Holyrood Park, home of Arthur’s Seat. Grassmarket and Princes Street are both 6-8 minutes away.

Royal Mile Backpackers

Just 50 metres from Edinburgh’s bustling Princes Street, Haystack Hostel is set in a renovated 18th-century Georgian building. It offers (not 24h reception) with free Wi-Fi and a fully equipped shared kitchen.

With luxurious wooden triple bunks, the dorms are all equipped with individual power and USB sockets, reading lights, and bed linen. Shared bathroom facilities include large showers and separate men's and women's bathrooms.

Shops, bars and restaurants surround Haystack Hostel, and Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station is less than 150 metres away. Impressive Edinburgh Castle is only 0.5 miles’ walk.

The kitchen and dining area features a full range of kitchenware as well as integrated oven/hobs, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. The lounge area provides additional space to relax and socialise.

Secure luggage lockers are available for guests, alongside a laundry service and Wi-Fi access throughout the building.

Haystack Hostel

Situated in central Edinburgh, the High Street Hostel offers free WiFi in all areas. Dating back to 1564, this historic property is on a small side street, just off the Royal Mile.

The hostel offers single beds in shared dormitory rooms. Each bed has a bedside safe and a locker. The rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities.

Guests have use of a self-catering kitchen, along with a quiet internet lounge. There is also a more vibrant party lounge for dining in and complimentary tea and coffee is available.

The High Street Hostel is only 5 minutes’ stroll from Edinburgh Railway Station. Edinburgh Castle can be reached after a 10-minute walk.

High Street Hostel
